I bought this for my son, after examining netbooks (too small for full time use in school) and laptops (very heavy), short battery life. A low-power, long life, word processing and e-mail engine is as good as we could hope for. Unfortunately, Acer is not really ready to support them. Love this laptop. Use the coast to coast flight – never came close to draining the battery. It is very light and sweet, and it works like a dream. Strangely enough, the keyboard is larger than my old laptop – which was better overall survival. The price can not be beat. I have tons of research – always considered netbook, but I found I needed more power and memory. This netbook and laptop size are much more expensive. (I paid $ 550.) Speakers are quite strong, and when video plays very tinny. (including video streaming). Downloads are fast, even through WLAN. The only problem I have encountered is the very-touchpad gesture. You should be able to zoom in and out, and other commands, but never have the opportunity to get right to work. But not really! In any case, recommend this as a powerful laptop in the budget.
